This is a very special episode of my podcast, “Transforming Grief” where we will explore the value of hope when facing a cancer diagnosis.
It makes it so special because I share with you how hope was the faithful companion of my beloved sister Alicia Beatriz, who left this earthly plane on June 15. She was a woman of great determination who loved life, and this great love inspired her to navigate cancer for four years with enthusiasm and hope.
As I suggest to my clients, she did not allow cancer to define her. When she lived a difficult moment she called it “an episode.” She never identified herself as a sick woman, which made her not give up in the struggle to improve and feel better and continue to maintain quality of life, enjoying everyday things as if they were great events, like having a coffee from Burger King, her favorite.
With her attitude and resilience, she taught us that we are more than a diagnosis, that our internal strength inspires us to move forward, taking hope as her guiding light which helped her intensely in her fight against cancer.
Let us always remember that although cancer can take away our physical strength, our emotional and spiritual strength can continue if we make that choice, for that is something we can always hold onto until the end of our life, the
power to decide. Her story is an inspiration to all of us as we remember that hope is the last thing to be lost.
Through this space, I want to honor Alicia's memory and convey a message of hope to all those who face this disease.
Remember, that although the path of cancer can be challenging, hope is a beacon that guides us towards the light. Allow it to be your constant companion and find the strength within you to face each day with courage and determination.
Thank you for joining me on this special episode, where we celebrate life and honor the spirit of Alicia Beatriz.
Share it to whoever can inspire you.
