WHAT IS MAMMON?
LAW OF CONTEXT:
When Jesus uses this term, mammon it is in the context of the spirit which rests on those
whose trust is on money.
Mammon’s intent is to keep you enslaved and distracted from following God fully and pursuing the purposes of God in the advance of His Kingdom through the Prophetic and Proceeding word.
Your mind is so preoccupied with how to make money that you do not have “time or space for the word”
LAW OF MEANING:
Mammon was the name of the Syrian god of “riches and money” and it’s intent is to self-destruct. Creating an alternative kingdom in the earth. Use material as a replacement of God, and whatever man was to control, now controls man.
MAMMON can be described as the spirit that manifests itself through money devoid of God’s nature, via man’s personal selfish perspective
The Spirit of Mammon has much more far reaching Ramifications in our lives than we really understand or even acknowledge.
LAW OF FIRST MENTION:
Only Jesus used this word in the entire Bible
Matthew 6:24 ;
24* “No one can serve two masters. He will either hate one and love the other, or be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon. Dependence on God.
Luke 16:9
No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
While both passages mention the term "mammon" and convey a similar message about the inability to serve both God and material wealth, they appear in slightly different contexts:
While the core message remains consistent in both passages, the contextual differences offer varying perspectives on the topic of serving God and mammon. Matthew's account is part of a broader discourse on righteous living, while Luke's account is connected to the parable of the shrewd manager and addresses the issue of stewardship and faithfulness.
MAMMON then, can be described as the spirit that manifests itself through money devoid of God’s nature, via man’s personal selfish perspective
