2 Corinthians 8:9 (NLT)
You know the generous grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. THOUGH HE WAS RICH, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that BY HIS POVERTY HE COULD MAKE YOU RICH.
RICH:
The Greek term πλούσιος (plousios) literally translates to "rich" or "wealthy" in English. It is often used in the New Testament to describe someone who has abundant material wealth or possessions.
POOR:
The Greek term πτωχεύω (ptocheuo) literally translates to "to become poor" or "to be impoverished" in English. It is used in the New Testament to describe a state of poverty or the act of becoming poor.
It is important to note that NONE OF THESE TERMS ARE SPIRITUAL, THEY ARE LITERAL.
