Gen. 3:1-4
1 Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, "Has God indeed said,`You shall not eat of every tree of the garden'?"
2 And the woman said to the serpent, "We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden;

4 Then the serpent said to the woman, "You will not surely die.

1. The Serpent is found INSIDE the garden:
The enemy hides himself in the FAMILIAR and NOT in the SPECTACULAR
The SERPENT was CUNNING:
subtle, shrewd, crafty, crafty, shrewd.
2. His question while seeming GENERAL is targeted to solicit an answer that gives him insight to your knowledge of a matter looking for a hole to exploit.
3. Even though Eve exaggerated a bit (even touch it( that was not his target, his target was to discredit God’s Word:
Gen. 2:17
17 "but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die."
Gen. 3:4
4 Then the serpent said to the woman, "You will not surely die.
Basically: GOD LIED.
