A generic vision or dream will not allow your mind to focus on the direction that will take you to the concrete realisation of your vision.
When you describe your vision in a very specific language and with lots of details including feelings and emotions, your mind - and you thoughts - will align consciously and subconsciously with that vision and you will keep following the right direction.
