As you probably already know, All forms of maintenance for commercial vehicles are massively important - especially where wheels and tyres are concerned. Tyres are the vehicle's only point of contact with the road, and those tyres are attached to the wheels - so both are crucial to a vehicle’s safe functioning.
The last thing you’d want as a driver, passenger or even another road user is for one of these wheels, and the attached tyre, to come flying off whilst driving a heavy vehicle at a high speed.
To make sure this doesn’t happen, you’ll want to make re-torquing and checking your wheel nuts an essential and regular part of your regular maintenance process - and that’s why this week I’ll be talking torque.
