A lack of self-love can lead us to abuse ourselves through food, substance abuse, or poor relationship choices. When we love ourselves, we can set healthy boundaries and make healthy choices for ourselves.
Is self-love the best love?
Self-love, which is also often referred to as self-compassion helps us to take care of our own needs, accept our weaknesses and failures as well as our strengths, and stay in touch with our emotions. Because selflessness is such a prized virtue in many circles, many believe self-love is egoistical. Caring for other people is important, but it shouldn’t come at the expense of your own well-being.
Having confidence, and self-love has so many benefits. Being confident leads to more happiness and joy in your life. The more self-confident you are, the happier you are with yourself, and you naturally enjoy so much more of what life has to offer you. When you are confident, people notice and gravitate towards you.
