“No Hope” to “Know Hope!” (Psalm 25:5)
By Steve Anderson.
Grief strands us in hopelessness. Hope grabs hold and pulls us forward.
Jesus experienced grief. (John 11:33-35; Luke 19:41-44)
Grief is a pivot point: We turn to God or we turn away.
Hope comes from acknowledging our grief.
Hope comes from grieving in community.
Grieving without hope > Grieving with conditional hope > Grieving with hope in Jesus
Christ.
Next Steps:
• Be honest with God, yourself and others.
• In your grief pivot to God!
Prayer:
Jesus, I’m grieving. I’ve lost things and people that have meant a lot to me. In my grief I
choose to pivot toward you. Thank you for the time I had the things and people that I
valued. Thank you for the certain hope I have of a new resurrection body and the new earth
and new heaven when you return. Amen.
