Alright, so for a full 30 days, a few people in our family (me, my wife, and my mom) decided to cut any sugar that doesn't occur naturally, dairy, grains (and other things) on a program called the Whole30. It's basically a way to "reboot" your body, and then slowly reintroduce foods to see what has adverse affects on you.

(One note is that it's not paleo or keto, you can have sugars in fruit. Mmm. Fruit. Oh, also potatoes. So yeah, it's not no/low carb.)

It was astounding how much cutting out sugar made me feel. Like, yikes. And buddy, the grogginess and headaches you have that first week are ROUGH (and prove how much my body was relying on sugar. 

I learned a lot, but I think what surprised me the most was how many foods contain sugar. I'm talking about foods that many would consider "healthy". Things like: 

The list goes on and on. 

Anyway, it definitely changed the way I eat, and now that I've added back in some dairy and other things, it's very sustainable.
