Description

We often think of "history" as old stories from a LONG, long time ago. As a Black woman, I am one generation away from the Civil Rights Movement. I am two generations away from sharecropping. I am only three or four generations way from the Civil War. This makes Black History very recent and very personal.

In honor of Black History Month, Markerra Larkin joins us to discuss:

- What is our black history?

- How did the events often discussed as black history impact us personally?

- Why is recognizing our roots necessary and powerful?
