The tabernacle was commanded to be a meeting place for God and His people. The journey of the people, through the priest, was atonement, redemptions, adoption = presence with God. This was a foreshadowing of Jesus, our Great High Priest, and His work on the cross so that we could be in His presence. The tabernacle is a picture of the Love story of God to His people.
