When the mainstream makes something cool that has been in certain communities for decades it loses its razzle dazzle, BUT when the initial meaning of the word is co-opted and given an entirely new meaning it's extremely cringe.
Ladies and gentlemen I lift up to you the word, WOKE. You can't get away from hearing it being thrown around in the political arena. Woke's original meaning went from something uplifting and being aware of what's really going on in society by African American communities to a political movement for progressives, then into a derogatory term used by conservatives. Depending on when you were born and what bubbles of information you float through you may have missed a few pieces to this puzzle. Let's get into it!
