ZeAnn (38:00) Guilt is related to something we have done so it’s related more to our actions/behavior, shame is more deep rooted in more in a sense of self… our emotions. The shame we feel from the guilt of the actions we have done.
Laura (37:14) For me, guilt is more where we take on the energy of someone else’s actions. So if someone else Projects onto us so we accept that guilt and we accept the shame. Why didn’t I change it? Why didn’t I work harder or do something to change their behavior towards me? That’s the guilt.
Jenn (19:08) The dictionary definition “Shame is a painful feeling of humiliation or distress caused by the consciousness of wrong or foolish behavior. Guilt is the fact of having committed a specified or implied offense or crime. As a verb the act of making someone feel guilty in order to have someone do something for you.
Jazzy (18:06) Shame is even heavier and more dense place than the emotion or feelings of guilt because shame is caused by the consciousness of guilt. Guilt…there is blame and offenses and something I feel you can work yourself up from.
