Lil ol' Schmidtty (me) was born the youngest of 7, ten minutes from Busch Stadium on the eastern side of the Mississippi River; and was subsequently mostly raised by single mother who doubled as a Union public high school teacher. I then left for the city of Chicago to earn a BS in Pure Mathematics from the University of Illinois. Concurrently, I spent about 10 years playing and touring extensively in various (and terrible) DIY punk and hardcore bands with sporadic involvement in various left-wing and anarchist organizations before spontaneously moving to New Orleans in 2014. From there, I adopted a brown dog and became a self-taught custom furniture maker. I joined the PBL for their inaugural season in 2017 as a founding member of the Fifth Ward Weebies. I became Commissioner of the League in 2019. Most of my time these days is spent building reproductions of historical furniture, running the baseball league (and my mouth), and struggling to learn Irish traditional music on the tin whistle.
