Recently retired Nike President Elliott Hill and former journalist, filmmaker and attorney Jim Matthews have been friends all their lives. When Elliott moved back to Austin he teamed up with his old pal to find a way to dig into the Austin culture and they came upon the sandlot revolution.

After a short 32 years with NIKE, Inc. Elliott most recently served as the President of Consumer & Marketplace. Prior to that Elliott achieved back-to-back Bachelor’s & Master’s degrees from TCU and Ohio University, respectively. A lifelong builder of community, he has worked tirelessly over the years raising funds and awareness for a plethora of charities and nonprofits. Elliott is enjoying retirement as the founder and owner of Open Road Resources and active board member for multiple companies including Tecovas, Rather Outdoors and Weber-Stephen Products.

Jim Matthews grew up in Austin, TX and earned a Journalism Degree from the University of Texas. He spent several years in Texas and California working as an award-winning television sports anchor including a 4-year stint at KXAN in Austin. Jim eventually moved to the other side of the camera and founded a television and film production company where he produced and directed everything from short films, documentaries and commercials to corporate videos. From the camera to the courtroom, Jim is now practicing as a criminal defense attorney back home in Austin and serves as the Head Coach of The Moontowers Sandlot Baseball Team.
