Skylights lead guitarist and songwriter Turnbull Smith was sound enough to give up his time and come on the podcast a couple of weeks ago. Loads of people recommended I give these lads a listen and they were right to do so! The band are from Leeds and formed in 2008 and after a six year layoff from 2012 they were encouraged to start playing again by family members in 2018. They sold out their first gig back and have gone from strength to strength since, playing on Soccer AM in 2020 and recently headlined a sold out King Tuts in Glasgow back in February of this year which is no mean feat given the historic nature of the venue. These lads have such a loyal following all over the UK with 19k followers on Twitter and support from likes of Josh Warrington who has featured in one of their music videos. It’s no wonder they have received such accolades since reforming given their tunes and how approachable they are. Their new single Rebellion is out now give that and this episode a listen cheers! x
