Dear Friends
I’ve personally faced more than my fair share of stress-related challenges over the years—and I’ve learned how to navigate through them in ways that have brought me peace, clarity, and strength. But of all the challenges I’ve encountered, this one takes the cake.
When Your Children Walk Away
This one cuts deep. It’s one of the hardest emotional stressors a parent can face.
You’ve poured your heart into them. You birthed them, nurtured them, gave up sleep, comfort, parts of yourself—because that’s what love does. You supported their choices, guided them when they stumbled, celebrated their wins, endured their losses, and stood by them through every messy chapter. You accepted their friends, their partners, their jobs—or lack of. You saw their brilliance even when they couldn’t.
And then one day… they vanish from your life. No calls. No messages. No birthdays. No contact at all. Just silence. Deafening silence.
And the mind kicks in: “What did I do?”
“Why would they shut me out?”
“How do I fix this?”
These thoughts go around and around in your mind, like a song you can’t turn off. They drain your energy, steal your peace, and leave you sitting in the empty space where your child once was—without answers, without understanding, just silence.
But then something shifts—a moment where you realise… you do have a choice.
One day, you realise something has to change. And that something… is you.
Because waiting on someone else's choices to bring you peace is the very definition of stress.
You can’t control their silence, but you can choose how you respond to it. And that’s where healing begins.
You see healing is an inside job. You can only change YOU and nobody but YOU.
SO!!
