Loup Barrow is a Parisian composer and master of the cristal baschet, a steel instrument consisting of 56 chromatically tuned crystal rods. Played like wet wine glasses, the rods resonate through the steel body and are expressed outward through three amplifying cones positioned at the front, producing otherworldy sounds that may be familiar to sci-fi fans. The largest of these, called "The Flame", is somewhere between that and a flower, perfectly polished and photogenic. Loup channels the world around him through mastery of this instrument and the tones produced reach deep, invoking a spectrum of thought and feeling.
