The world changed on the morning of September 11, 2001. In New York, Washington, DC, and Shanksville, PA, hijacked planes were used as instruments of mass destruction, but at an unassuming airport in a small town in far eastern Canada, dozens of planes bound for the U.S. were forced to land. When they did, they found a community that would come together and take on the largest challenge imaginable. Almost 7,000 people from all over the world found themselves stranded in Gander, and the story of how the town's people loved them and served them is both beautiful and inspiring.
