On episode 6 of No Sleep Till Hollywood, Gaelyn and Caleb sit down with Breana Turner MPH to discuss the Strong Black Woman trope that is running rampant in the television and film landscape. Utilizing Breana’s expertise as a Master of Public Health and Doctoral student, they break down the history of the trope and analyze examples on popular shows. They also discuss the harmful effects of the adultification of Black girls and how we can all do better for the Black women in our lives.
