OVERTIME! Life After The Spotlight

Starring NFL All Pro, David Fulcher

Co-Hosted by Award Winning National Speaker, David Coleman

With Special Guest, Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame Second Baseman, Ron Oester

When asked how the Cincinnati Reds upset the Oakland Athletics in the 1990 World Series, Ron Oester shared that “We were a team who picked each other up when one of us was down.” Described as a “Quiet and efficient player that was always overlooked,” Ron discussed what it was like to share a locker room with Hall of Famers such as Johnny Bench, Tony Perez and Pete Rose, especially as a rookie who was learning his place on the team. Ron explained why he never wore a batting glove, his deep faith and the role it plays in his life to this day, and why he is not thrilled by the excessive celebration shown during games by today’s professional athletes, especially when they are behind on the scoreboard. He also talked about why he turned down the head coaching job for the Reds and what he was doing the day he knew his career had come to an end. A class act and genuine guy, Ron was a pleasure to have on the show.
