Today we're talking about creativity and structure...
Because art can change the world!!!!!
Cultivating creativity in your day to day routine can support your memory and your mental health, it can help you articulate how you're feeling and process dreams. When we do art for the process, we can develop a deeper connection with ourselves. Today I honour artists who inspire me, past and present.
I know many artists and if there's one thing I know they both crave and avoid structure. If I know another thing, it's that they're quick to give credit to their fellow artists, but they tend to struggle with extending the same energy for their own art.
How can we develop a creative practice that's sustainable? Both sustainable within our bandwidth, (we're not crafting for the criticism), and sustainable with our resources. We will talk about cultivating a craft and the process of practice to improvement.
We're talking about motivation and inspiration and how we can create more often, with ease, by bringing harmony between the free flowing world of art and structure. You can find creativity in the most mundane tasks by setting the mood, especially when you want to accomplish something that makes you uncomfortable.
How often you practice will determine the level of motivation you require each time you want to jump into something new. The length of time you dedicate to practicing will determine how deep you develop your personal style.
In the art world, there's little that isn't subjective to the audience... much like business... That's the beautiful thing about it; we will talk about the balance between feedback and boundaries.
With this episode I ask you to create more... Make time to practice and do it to understand your process. Paint your life and make it as colourful as the canvas asks. And lastly, I ask you to offer yourself grace in times of creative drought.
I have some exciting news on its way for you, keep an eye out on my @cofellow Instagram for dates and details.
