Hello and welcome, today we are talking all things self care.
I have broken this huge topic into the following categories: the types of self care, the theory and execution, the problem, the solution, and my personal practice and wish for you. We will discuss the difference between marketable self care that we're sold online and the accessibility of radical self care practices.
Self care comes in introspective and extrospective forms and can serve us in many ways when practiced consistently. Self care is key to maintaining nervous system regulation which creates feelings of safety in the body, even throughout times of discomfort. When we practice self care on a daily basis we can create new pathways in the brain to help you find your happy place, develop your process and self awareness. Your self care practice is personal to you, you have the chance to offer your inner child the sense of belonging they've been looking for.
It's my job to be an example of how accessible self care is to you even if you're not ready to go on a spa retreat. Self care is a self defined practice of doing things that make you feel fulfilled and purposeful. Self care is hugging trees and screaming in your car. It's also painting your nails and changing your sheets. It's also having hard conversations and cutting people off when your needs aren't being met.
Self care is a righteous act of fulfilling your needs in response to a culture that leans on externally sourced affirmation. Radical self care is offering yourself compassion and fierce self acceptance while you navigate your mistakes and shortcomings. Self care is the solution to a stress addicted culture that perpetuates binge and restrict ideals.
