Californication is the seventh studio album released by Red Hot Chili Peppers. Another Rick Rubin classic, this album was among the most popular albums of the 1990s and contains the hit singles Scar Tissue, Otherside, and Californication. This was John Frusciante’s first album back with the band following his departure after the release of Blood Sugar Sex Magik. The band did a brief stint with Dave Navarro on guitar and released One Hot Minute in 1995. Released in 1999, Californication marked a return to and evolution of the sound that the band discovered with Blood Sugar Sex Magik.
