I came to this episode with an important and hard question... How do we keep up a consistent practice when what was once a healing practice is now our profession? I brought on one of my dear friends, Geena Huggins, to answer this question.
Geena was introduced to Yoga when a longtime friend described her experience in a Yoga class and thought Geena would enjoy it as well. She found her mat at the perfect time, struggling to find deeper meaning and connection, and realized early on that Yoga would have an important role in her life. A decade later, and Geena keeps showing up to her mat. Whether through meditation, asana, breath, or pause, she has found tools that help her stay grounded through all of life’s ebbs and flows. Combined, Geena has over 600 hours of training and study. She has been teaching group Yoga classes and private sessions since 2017, inclusive to Vinyasa, Mindful, Gentle, and Restorative Yoga. And endless hours of personal practice on her Yoga mat/meditation cushion. Her personal practice has been a constant reminder that the student is also the teacher, and teacher also the student.
Themes Geena and I discuss in this episode:
