Senior épéeist Teddy Lombardo captained Columbia’s men’s fencing team to an Ivy League title last year, followed by a third place finish at the NCAA tournament this year. In this episode of “A Look at the Lions,” Caleb Dye talks with Lombardo about how an embarrassing loss in a basketball game as a child pushed him into fencing and how the sport has since changed his life. After graduating this spring, Lombardo hopes to pursue competing in the Olympics.
