It can be sooooo frustrating to not sleep well. Whether it is from disturbed sleep, going to bed to late, or waking up to early, it can definitely ruin your day.
Lack of sleep affects our memory and ability to think clearly, and sleep deprivation can lead to neurological dysfunction such as mood swings and hallucinations. Sleep difficulties are associated with adverse effects on well-being, functioning, and quality of life which can disrupt family life, well-being, and the ability to care for children or oneself.
With 50 to 70 million Americans chronically suffering from a disorder of sleep and wakefulness, I feel it is clinically significant to understand.
In todays podcast I decided to talk about sleep and it's relationship to the nervous system because of how it directly affects our overall health. I discuss the stages of sleep, what is happening to the brain during the hours of wakefulness and sleep, and ALL the different tools and techniques to improve your sleep.
The key take away? What you do in the DAY is just as important as what you do at night. With most people only addressing evening routines, it's time to better understand how we wake up affects our sleep big time.
So if you're ready to sleep better and feel more wakeful in the day, this episode is for you!
