"Miami's Experimental Post Metal band BLEETH is a well-known secret among South Florida denizens. Their visceral heavy sound is grounded in an aggressively melodious genre-fusing experience. Since their formation in 2014 they have been featured on Miami New Times as part of the essential metal bands to see when visiting. BLEETH’s self released 2015 EP, Re-animator, took them touring up and down the East Coast, ultimately catching the attention of Anti-Language Records (LA), who released the bands first full-length album Geomancer on August 3rd, 2018.
Geomancer helped establish BLEETH on a national level, with coverage on Decibel, Revolver, Invisible Oranges, and more. After completing East Coast, Midwest tour and Florida tours., the band returned to the studio to work on their next album. Ryan Haft, an established live sound "go-to" for bands like Torche, Red Fang, Eyehategod, Big Business, OM, and more, recorded and mixed the band's forthcoming release. The new songs mark “a shift in a new direction”—shorter and faster than past records, with particular emphasis on atypical tunings and arrangements.
Appropriately titled, Harbinger, delves into internal struggles the band had with faith in self, public institutions, moral authority, and the afterlife. BLEETH has a growing fear that new technology and crisis would bring our society closer towards authoritarianism. The album title Harbinger is a reference to the omens these internal struggles imply for the future of human society.
“BLEETH’s sound is already massive, full of angst and virtuosity. They provide us with yet another example of the true Miami contemporary metal sound: heavy bass, guitar riffs that balance complex melodies with foggy atmosphere, and drums with a Latin groove. “
