Description

We discuss a study entitled: The Hidden Injury of Class in Korean-American Language Brokers' Lives by Hyeyoung Kwon, published in 2014.

Many Korean families who immigrate to the US are faced with the challenges of a new language and culture. In those families, the children are often those with the most fluent English skills and become the language brokers for the family. What happens to these children when they have to be part of difficult conversations and learn about the darker side of the family's problems?
