Being a teenager or young adult is difficult at the best of times. We find so many challenges that present to us as we try to figure out how to navigate life; fiercely wanting our independence while at the same time still being young enough to not really know what the best course of action might be. Layered into that may be the challenge of knowing that your sexuality is different than that of the majority of your peers; it can add an incredible amount of pressure on the young person.
This week we are incredibly lucky to speak to one of Canada‘s youngest coaches, Alannah Byers. Alannah works with 2SLGBTQIA+ young people and their families or friends if they so choose and she coaches them about navigating a world that has a very heterosexual normative approach.
