Hello my friends and welcome back to the Becoming Ageless podcast where we have conversations about WHOLE HEALTH for naturally increasing healthspan and decreasing biological age. I’m your host, Robynn Lin Fredericks , and I believe in both “BEING” and Living AGELESS!
I always like to remind my listeners that creating a long healthspan is like putting together a jigsaw puzzle and it takes many odd-shaped pieces to complete a beautiful master-piece. While we can’t control everything in our environment, becoming ageless is both a lifestyle and mindset which requires us to become AWARE of things that we are actually able to control. Essentially, we are building an actionable plan to put the odds in our favor to achieve our health goals, as we grow older.
The puzzle piece we are talking about today is movement and nutrition, particularly after age 40.
While there’s little debate about the need of movement and exercise and it’s ability to increase the quality of life through improved immunity, sleep, energy, metabolism, psychological state, wellness and longevity, and the improved function of tissues such as bones, nerves, joints, and muscles. The question lies in what kind? How much? What’s the best food plan to accommodate our workouts, both in providing fuel as well as recovery. We all have different goals, different lifestyles, different body types. And today, we hope to clear up a little of that confusion and help set you up for success.
My guest today is Catherine Piot, coming to us all the way from Berlin, Germany. She has a master’s degree in nutrition and physical education with almost 30 years of experience. In addition, she also has numerous certifications in the field of athletic performance and sports nutrition. Catherine is the author of the book ‘’Transform your body after 40. A Women’s Guide to Weight Loss and Fitness.’’ (which is available on Amazon) and the creator of the 3-month program FIT & LEAN, which helps women over 40 lose fat without restrictive diets and hours of cardio.
She works with clients from around the globe, teaching lifestyle changes and simplifying nutrition by eating healthy food in the right amount RATHER than getting stuck in a traditional “diet”.
