In the fall of 1982, super early in the morning, 12 year old Johnny Gosch left his home with his weenie dog, Gretchen, to deliver the Sunday edition of the Des Moines Register. He was seen at the corner of his route by another paper boy while they folded newspapers together. A man stopped and asked for directions and then the boys parted ways.
