In this episode we interview Dr. George Yiachos, M.D., FACC, FASNC who is a functional cardiologist from Naples, Florida. George did his Medical School training at the SUNY Stony Brook Medical School in Stony Brook, NY and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Winthrop University Hospital in Minneola, NY. He also did a Fellowship at Winthrop University in Cardiovascular Diseases.
Dr. Yiachos is board certified in cardiology, specializing in cardiovascular disease, echocardiography, stress echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, congestive hear failure management, lipid management, coronary artery disease and vascular heart disease. George and I met at the Orlando Health and Freedom Summit recently and he was a featured speaker like many others in attendance who were promoting and espousing alternative methods and modalities for better overall health and vitality.
As he and I discussed, sometimes traditional western Medicine providers rush to put a band aid on the problem instead of addressing the root causes and symptoms that caused the problem in the first place. In all my experiences of dealing with my own heart disease I had not heard most of the information he shared with me during this interview. Once you listen and glean the knowledge that Dr. Yiachos offers, I believe our listeners will be as impressed as I was with the depth of information he provides. I for one never knew that knowing whether or not you were breast fed as a baby had any impact on heart disease but as he explained, that is only one factor and bit of information needed to determine an appropriate treatment plan.
