Hebrews 9:15-28 | An Anchor for the Soul | Trent Hunter
The future gives us trouble. It's not even here yet, but the future causes us to fear and fret. Some of this is with good reason. As Hebrews says, "it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment" (9:27). But for the Christian, this is not our future and so we can face the future with bold assurance and eager anticipation, for as sure as Christ appeared once to die, he appears now in heaven on our behalf. And as sure as he is in heaven right now, he will appear again to save us. This confidence concerning the future enables us to hold fast in the present.
