In this episode we will discuss Vashti and Ester. Vashti refused to come when her husband, the king summoned her. Perhaps she was too busy with her banquet and friends to answer his call. Scripture says he and his friends were drunk and wanted her to come dance in front of them. According to Persian culture a woman was not supposed to do this inappropriately dressed. Did the King forget this or was he too drunk to remember? At the end of the day Vashti chose not to answer his beckoned call and as a result she was dethroned. Later a beautiful young orphan girl named Ester would take the reigns and find favor with the King and be used by God to save the Jews. Take a listen. Let us know what you think.
