God speaks. Often he speaks through people. The problem is that, we often do not listen; stiffed necked. Our hearts are turned away from God and so we do not hear him. The reality is that even when we ignore his voice through people, in our heart of hearts we know what God desires, what is right and wrong. The real danger is that, when we tend to ignore even this, when we put our fingers in our ears like the account from today's gospel, we lose ourselves and become what we are not meant to be.
It is my prayer that even as we prepare for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, we will listen to the voice of God; listen to the voice of our neighbor and above all, listen to our conscience. May God bless you
