Welcome back to the Mental Health Cypher podcast and we are wishing you a Happy, Healthy, and Successful 2019. We are adding a new element to the podcast this year by incorporating workshops to consciously provide the easy and applicable tools and tips to help you grow through the challenges that you may face in dealing with mental illness as you become more mentally healthy as we all erase the stigma in our community. The workshop today is all about negative thought and negative thinking. Are you exorcising your demons to make them weaker or exercising them to make them stronger?

So, what are negative thoughts – according to the Encyclopedia of Behavioral Medicine 

Negative Thoughts are cognitions about the self, others, or the world in general that are characterized by negative perceptions, expectations, and attributions and are associated with unpleasant emotions and adverse behavioral, physiological, and health outcomes.
