We have another information-packed episode of The Deal. Join us as we welcome Reverend Lernette P. Patterson of Reddy Chapel AME Zion Church in Galveston, TX. Reddy Chapel (https://reedychapel.com/) is part of the history of Juneteenth. After reading the Emancipation Proclamation at the Galveston courthouse, the document was paraded to Reddy Chapel and nailed to the front door. Each year the people of Galveston recreate the historical beginnings of Juneteenth. Reverend Patterson talks to us about the history we should know and the challenges Galveston now faces with gentrification.
Also, here are Val Atkinson and Dr. Nicole McFarlane from Fayetteville State University to talk about the ongoing 1/6 Committee hearings. Clarence Thomas and his wife find themselves smack dap in the middle of the coup plot. Please listen to and share this special episode.
