Description

Roe v. Wade is over and done. The US Supreme Court has had its say, so what should we expect from this ruling? What we do know is that some states have already outlawed abortions. So-called "trigger laws" were affected when the decision was published. What does this mean for women's reproductive health? Join me along with Val Atkinson and NCCU Constitutional Law Professor Irv Joyner as we try to make some sense of the ruling to end Roe. But that's not all. The court has also handed down several significant judgments that will impact gun laws, your Miranda Rights, and a case that might impact voter id in North Carolina. Plus, we dig into the latest revelations about Donald Trump's efforts at a coup to overturn the 2020 presidential election.

Professor Joyner will be the keynote speaker at the Annual Reading of Frederick Douglass' Essay in Carrboro, NC, on July 4th, 2022.

Mayor Damon Seils will host our annual gathering of community members for the annual Community Reading of Frederick Douglass' essay, "The Meaning of the Fourth of July for the Negro." The reading will occur in the Carrboro Century Center's Century Hall at 12:00 pm.
