Calling all 1’s! Enneagram for the Culture episode 5 covers the type 1 personality, or the “perfectionist.” Our hosts Kimberly Reese & Camille Logan, Black therapists hailing out of the North Carolina, cover a broad range of details regarding 1’s and how they interact with society. As always, they recap how the Enneagram was prevalent in their lives this week, and later Kim gives us an overview of who 1’s are (10:45) and how they typically show up in the world. Following a discussion on the arrows (15:30), they share how the wings influence type 1 (19:50), and later they touch on some common misconceptions (32:30). As we enter the “culture” portion of the show, Camille starts us off by breaking down how being a black type 1 can come with unfair cultural stress (40:10) and expectations. They discuss what 1s bring to the Black experience (48:28) besides being the pillars of order in society, Kim and Camille talk about how type 1’s are very loyal and protective of their loved ones (50:55). Finally the pair talk about how type 1s can grow(53:50).  We hope you all enjoy this episode and leave a comment if you’re a type 1. Let Kim and Camille know if they got it right! Thank you for listening.
