In this episode, I tell one of the oldest recorded myths: Atrahasis. This Sumerian/Babylonian myth was written by Nur-Aya around 1750 BCE and stories the diplomacy between the Gods that yields the world, humans, and a massive, devastating flood. Atrahasis is based on an older myth: Eridu Genesis from approximately 2800 BCE, and is referenced by countless other myths from a wide variety of cultures (even to the modern day).
I also explain the goals of Myth: The First and Last Word and analyze the contents of Atrahasis through my particular intersectional lens.
