25-vuotias Dorothy katosi keskellä päivää New Yorkin keskustassa. Vaikka Dorothy ja hänen perheensä olivat tunnettuja 1910 luvun New Yorkissa ei kenelläkään näyttänyt olevan tietoa mitä nuorelle naiselle oli tapahtunut. Dorothy Arnoldin katoamisen ympärillä pyörii useita eri teorioita, mutta vieläkään ei tiedetä mitä hänelle tapahtui.
