The world to which Jesus was sent is described by God in Isaiah
9:2 as a world stuck in deep darkness. God in his infinite love and wisdom sent into this world an amazing gift of his wisdom and counsel. He didn't send it in the form of a letter, a proclamation, or a ruler - rather he sent his wonderful counsel by sending the WONDERFUL COUNSELOR.
