In this chapter we had the pleasure of speaking with Angela Hassiotis, Full Professor of Psychiatry of Intellectual Disability at the Faculty of Brain Sciences, University College London. She will be sharing with us her understanding of what ‘care’ stands for, the challenges that lie ahead in the context of the UK, as well as the need to focus on the multiple sacrifices informal carers make and how to provide them with better support.
