We all struggle at times with reading our bible on a consistent basis, and sometimes when we're in the groove of reading our bible Satan finds a way to distract us pulling us away from our alone time with God. In 1 Timothy Chapter 1, Paul is writing to Timothy, encouraging him to remain in Ephesus so that he can keep certain people from teaching false doctrine and their strange devotions to myths and endless genealogies. Paul encourages Timothy, to teach the church the purpose of the law and the purpose of salvation, which translates to the importance of knowing God's word. The gift of reading is a blessing and understanding God's word is spiritual revelation, but if we never read or hear His word for ourselves how will we know if our pastor or other leaders in the church are speaking from Truth? This is why Paul encourages Timothy to remain in Ephesus to keep the others accountable, so today I encourage each of you to do the same.
