Nikki Stone became America’s first aerial skiing Gold Medal Champion at the 1998 Olympics in Nagano, Japan. The event tested her resilience, endurance, and desire. Almost two years earlier, Nikki had a chronic injury that prevented her from walking. She came close to being
sidelined from aerial skiing indefinitely. No one believed that Nikki would be able to ski down a slope at almost 40 miles per hour in a competitive event like the one she was eyeing for the Olympics. In fact, ten doctors told her she’d never ski again; but Nikki refused to give up, and to everyone’s surprise, she won the event. She learned a great deal about herself during these trying times, and the experience inspired her to write the book: When Turtles Fly: Secrets of Successful People Who Know How to Stick Their Necks Out. Today, Nikki travels worldwide, sharing her insights into overcoming adversity and how you can thrive when the odds are stacked against you. Nikki shares her motivational
