What is a grant?

Grant applications usually involve a competitive process where individuals or organizations submit proposals outlining their project or initiative, including the goals, methods, budget, and expected outcomes. Grantmakers review these proposals and award funds to those they believe will best achieve the desired objectives.
Grants can cover a wide range of fields and purposes, including academic research, arts and culture, social services, environmental conservation, and more.
