Law of effect is the belief that a pleasing after-effect strengthens the action that produced it and negative after-effect weakens the action that produced it. This principle was developed by Edward Thorndike who suggested that responses to actions will determine if actions will be repeated. For example, if you started to follow a new meal plan and as a result, you started to feel more energized and creative then you are likely to stick with it for a while. If however the new meal plan made you feel hungry and you didn’t enjoy the meals themselves then you are likely to give up soon. What this means is that you should create routines and rituals in your life that you enjoy as you will be more likely to stick with them. Of course, any goal that you want to achieve will require hard work and effort so you shouldn’t be just looking for things that are easy as that might be holding you back. You have to focus on your goals and whenever you see that you are making progress towards your goals you will feel more motivated to repeat the same activity. If your new morning routine is helping you to wake up in the morning then you will have more time to work on your business plan. The key to developing new habits and routines is to stay open-minded and try out new things to see what works for you. So, if you want to achieve your goals then you have to make sure that you develop structure in your life that supports them.
