To improve your decision making and achieve your goals quicker it’s worth to learn about Probabilistic Thinking. Probabilistic thinking is essentially trying to estimate, using our knowledge, beliefs and logic, the likelihood of any specific outcome. It is one of the best tools we have to improve the accuracy of our decisions and therefore achieve our goals faster. It’s not only the poker that we play based on probabilities, but all our life is also based on probabilities. When you have to choose what route to take to the work you base that decision on probability and hope that you will not get stuck in traffic. When you go for a run you plan the distance based on the time available and more importantly on your physical abilities to complete the run. This is true for small decisions and a big one like deciding to get married and stay together or starting a business and succeeding. Prediction is a skill which can be improved with practice. It starts with asking questions to challenge the assumptions. If you wake up late in the morning then you can ask yourself will I make it to work on time if I walk? And if the answer is no then you have to get the Uber. You can use the Probabilistic Thinking to evaluate the possibility of you being affected by something. If your friend gets an injury while working out in the gym - does that mean that you should stop working out? Probably not as a probability for you to get an injury is low. But you should take notice of it and make sure that you do all the exercises with a correct form.
