Even though today, Zendaya is a celebrity living a glamorous life with millions of fans, she actually grew up in a humble family. Both of her parents were teachers. And believe it or not, Zendaya wasn't always the outgoing fearless girl she appears to be in public, growing up she was a painfully shy kid. Her shyness became such a big problem that she had to repeat kindergarten twice. Thankfully, Her parents did everything they could to help Zendaya break out of her shell. Her dad had to convince her to sing a duet with him at school concert when she was 8. Like many kids, sadly Zendaya had to deal with bullies. She faced a lot of teasing in school. She was constantly made fun of. But Zendaya always felt very lucky to have parents who believed in her and supported her dreams. Because her path to success wasn't always easy. When she and her dad moved to Los Angeles to pursue her acting career, her mom had to stay home and work two jobs to support the family. Thankfully, every sacrifice paid off. She started her career as a backup dancer for a commercial starring Selena Gomez. But soon Zendaya became a Disney Star at only 14. Today with many projects behind her, The exciting thing is that at the age of 25 the talented and amazing Zendaya is just getting started.
